Here's a few photos from Thursday, December 27 and Saturday, December 29, 2007 at the station in Little Rock, Arkansas. Included today: UP 2741, 9279, 2276, 8229, 7221, 2475, 2927, 9714, 3184, 4709, 7788 *** Soo Line boxcar *** HS, former Rock Island boxcar *** four D&H gondolas *** ice on standing water.  It was a sunny, clear day on December 29 but overcast on December 27 and cold both days.

December 27 at 9:40 a.m., a southbound passes Union Station.  It was cloudy and cold (mid 30s).


LEFT-December 29, 2007,  9:46 a.m. - UP 9279 passes the depot. It was still cold, but sunny (upper 30s in the sun, near freezing in the shade). RIGHT-UP 2276, 10:18 a.m.


LEFT-Soo Line boxcar. RIGHT-UP 8229, 10:29 a.m.


LEFT-UP 8229 with a loaded coal train southbound, 10:30 a.m.. The switches between the Number 1 and Number 2 main were recently upgraded. RIGHT-DPU was UP 7221.


LEFT-UP 2475, 11:09 a.m. RIGHT-HS 75116 boxcar, former Rock Island blue.


LEFT-UP 2927, southbound at 11:17 a.m. RIGHT-Two trains stop at Union Stationat 11:46 a.m.  just before they reach the newly upgraded switches between Main 1 and Main 2.  A crewmember from each train had to manually change the switches since apparently they were not closing properly.


LEFT-UP 9714, 11:48 a.m.  leaves with a mixed train. RIGHT-This crewmember had just manually changed the switch, or seeded it properly and signaled the train to stop.




RIGHT-Four Delaware & Hudson gondolas.


LEFT-The second train, an intermodal, left at 12:07 p.m. with UP 3184. RIGHT-Another train closely followed at 12:16 p.m. on Main 1 with UP 4709.


LEFT-In the shade at Union Station, there was still some ice on standing water at 2:00 p.m.  RIGHT-UP 7788 heads an intermodal at 2:12 p.m.
