LEFT-Brilliant sunrise over a lake and adjacent swamp off U. S. Highway
70
on my way to Brinkley, Arkansas, Saturday, December 2, 2006. It was
about 28 degrees with frost and sheets of ice on the edge of the late.
RIGHT-UP 3404, 8:52 a.m.
southbound. Note the horns on 3404. With the Highway
70 crossing just ahead, the sound of these horns almost blew out my
eardrums.

LEFT- NS 8923, 9:09 a.m. RIGHT-Conrail 8332.

LEFT-White snow on a black tank car. This train must have picked up
snow in
northeast Arkansas or southeast Missouri the day before. RIGHT-Snow on
flats.

LEFT-UP 4340, 11:52 a.m. No UP shield on the nose. RIGHT-UP 4308 from
Memphis, 12:30 p.m.

LEFT-UP 8430, 1:12 p.m. RIGHT-This time of year, thousands of ducks and
geese fly over the depot and
Brinkley on their way south for the winter. Some settle in the various
swamps in the Cache and White River wildlife refuges around Brinkley.
Very noisy.
