Here's some closeups/measurements of a
signal on the Amtrak siding at Little Rock, Arkansas' Union Station. It
was requested that I do so. These were taken November 7, 2006 by Ken
Ziegenbein.

Just to give you an idea where the signal is, Union Station is to the
left and the Amrak siding is the first track to the right. The next two
tracks are Union Pacific's busy directional north main lines from Texas
through Arkansas. The Little Rock & Western has a track to the
right of those shown. Amtrak's daily Texas Eagle, Numbers 21 and 22,
stops here at midnight and 4:30 a.m.

The signal in question is the one to the right of the CP-X346 mileage
marker. We are looking east. The tracks curve under the highway bridge
to the left and cross the Baring Cross bridge over the Arkansas River
before heading to Union Pacific's busy North Little Rock yards and
Jenks Shops. There are 4 signal lenses here: Top is Green, second one
down is Yellow, third one down is Blue, and the bottom is Red. I've
only seen the blue signal one time when there were more tracks beyond
with a work railcar parked on it.
Just behind the signal, the Amtrak siding switches to the
main line and the upper green signal lights up. The top green signal
has "43983-110X" engraved on it.

Measurements: Base Plate is 16 1/2 inches wide as viewed on the left
photo (from the front of the signal) and 11 1/2 inches wide as viewd on
the side photo. The attached signal's plate, which is bolted on the
base plate, is 10 1/2 inches on each side. The signal from it's base to
top is 68 1/2 inches high (from the bolted-on base). "42275" is
engraved on the base.

Just a couple of scenes of the area around Union Station. The Amtrak
office is a polling place and today was election day.
