SEPTEMBER 4, 2002 (WEDNESDAY)

Today we drove from Oakley, Kansas to Newton, Kansas and spent the night. On the way, we went through Dodge City where I visited the Boot Hill Museum and cemetery. Also you'll see some stockyards.

The Santa Fe Trail Tracks historic site is located 9 miles west of Dodge City, Kansas. You can still see some of the tracks here, but it's hard. They were made by wagons of settlers traveling west from 1822 to 1872.

Above photos show the being-renovated old Santa Fe depot and Harvey House at Dodge City, Kansas on September 4, 2002, plus scenes inside the Boot Hill Museum, which is situated on the Boot Hill Cemetery land. The actual cemetery hasn't existed since the last century, but this is where the cemetery was. The bottom photos are of downtown Dodge City.
