Thursday, November 4, 2004 at Old Town
Spring, north of Houston. I was on a tour sponsored by the
International Quilt Festival and spend the few hours we had in Old Town
Spring waiting for trains. To contact me, click HERE.
Map of this location:

BNSF 4505, 1:52 p.m. November 4, 2004. The location was near the Hardy
and Main Street road crossings in Old Town Spring. It was heading out
of the yard, northbound.

UP 9465, 2:13 p.m.

The track in the foreground curves to the northwest, then west.

A train heads toward the Spring yards on the sweeping curve from the
west/northwest at 2:22 p.m.

UP 6768, 2:23 p.m.

Click on this photo to see and listen to a short 10-second MPEG movie
of this scene. The squeaking sound of the wheels was deafening. It had
stopped for 10 minutes.

A northbound train from a cafe.

The UP yards looking south. I didn't have a car here, so did not get
any closer.

UP 4309, 3:34 p.m. with an empty autorack train.

This restaurant is in a replica of an old MKT depot. The original
station was moved to Spring from Lovelady, but burned in 1999. They
told me they rebuilt the entire station.

MKT sign on the wall of the restaurant. Did this survive the fire?
