LEFT-Private crossing on the UP (former Katy) west (RR north) of New
Ulm June 11. RIGHT-Manually changing the switch on the north end of the
siding in New Ulm to line up an empty rock train heading toward
Smithville. The siding contained a long filled rock train with the
front of that train fouling the Highway 109 gated crossing over a half
mile away (another gated crossing is located a block away from the Hwy
109 crossing so motorists could easily get across the tracks at that
crossing).

LEFT-Looking west, or RR north, toward Fayetteville and La Grange.
RIGHT-Empty rock train about to move north, 9:47 a.m. June 11. It was a
busy Sunday trainwise in New Ulm with a total of 8 trains that I heard
or saw in the 24 hour period.

UP 6418 leaving town.

RIGHT-D&RGW hopper.

LEFT-MoPac buzzsaw hopper. There were lots of these. RIGHT-Greater New
Ulm
with the loaded southbound rock train on the siding at 9:58 a.m.

UP 7556 and 3 other units on the long rock train.

Rio Grande, Western Pacific and MoPac hoppers.

LEFT-MKT red gon on its' home turf. RIGHT-Bernard Road south of
New Ulm. Notice that this is the third modern gated crossing in New Ulm
(each with the electonic bells with speakers).

Another loaded southbound train is waiting for the manual switch change
off the siding in New Ulm proper. It is now about 2 p.m. June 11
and this train is not the same one in the previous photos.

UP 7565, 2:04 p.m. June 11 at Bernard Road crossing.

The red Katy gondola again.

Off to Sealy.

9:15 p.m. June 12 through New Ulm, UP 6234. Yep, another rock
train. (ISO 3200 and flash) The
splotches are dust particles, which the digital cameras set at high
sensitivity levels pick up. (There are some who say they are ghostly
'orbs')

Tuesday, June 13 at Jacksonville, Texas with CSX 7904 at the basket
factory crossing - 1:02 p.m.
