MAY 26, 2004. We drove from Lewistown, Montana through Great Falls, then south to Ulm, Montana, which has the Ulm Pishkun Buffalo Jump Historic Site. The first few photos are of snow scenes west of Lewistown, and downtown Ulm, Montana scenes.










Snow and mountain scenes west of Lewistown, Montana May 26. We were trying to find a ghost town.


We think this is a ghost town that was supposed to be somewhere near this area northwest of Lewistown, Montana.


We headed to this butte where famous Buffalo Jumps occurred in the mid 1800s. It is located south of Great Falls, Montana.

The museum had some good paintings and settings of buffalo hunters' life in the 1850s.


This sign explains what the buffalo hunters did to kill the buffalo at the various jump sites throughout the western region of the country.


This is the view from the top of the Ulm Pishkun Jump butte. Buffalo were raced toward the edge, would all fall off the cliff to their deaths then be taken home by the Indians for food and supplies.
