UP2911 flashing through Stuttgart, Arkansas at 1229 p.m. March 22, 2003. It has just crossed Main Street. Downtown Stuttgart, the duck and rice capitol of the world where thousands of duck hunters come each fall, is to the right.

Downtown Stuttgart is to the right. There are rice elevators all over the county.

Back to Union Station in Little Rock, NS9496 northbound at 1019 a.m. Sunday, March 30, 2003.

Spring grass was starting to grow today, but it was still in the cold 40s with a stiff wind. RIGHT-Southbound UP5096, 1023 a.m., March 30.

There was a long string of engines on this train, going to Pine Bluff. Somewhat unusual log cars. I don't see too many of those on trains anymore.

UP3521 at 1110 a.m. The lady to the left was holding a 2-year-old boy that loves trains. The boy's grandfather was there also, who happenes to be the head of the Arkansas Senate, which is now in session. We found out he was a railfan and gave him some Arkanas Railroaders! The friendly engine crew on this train saw the boy and gave a few low whistle blasts as they passed.

We had a butane heater to keep warm - the wind was blowing at 20 mph or so, making it feel pretty cold.
