LEFT-Instrument/tool shelter next to the busy Union Pacific tracks
across
from Union Station in Little Rock, taken on November 24, 2006. Contrast
this shot to the next one taken the next day of a similar shelter next
to the long-abandoned Rock Island near Hazen, Arkansas.
RIGHT-Rock Island instrument/tool shelter just west of Hazen, Arkansas
taken
on November 25, 2006. The tracks were right in front of this shelter -
they were taken up about 25 years ago in the early 1980s.
What a contrast to the UP shelter in Little Rock.

LEFT-Argenta sign advertising a new shopping center going up in North
Little
Rock (straight ahead off the bridge). Note the incentive on the sign
that reads "on Trolley Lines." The streetcar tracks are on the other
side of the bridge. I'm standing over the Arkansas River. RIGHT-Trolley
crossing Washington Avenue heading south across the bridge on
November 27, 2006. Since it opened in November 2004, the 2.5 mile line
has carried about 290,000 passengers. The system now has 5 trolleys,
but uses only 2 or 3 at a time and will use 4 or 5 when the extension
to the Clinton Library and Heifer International opens early next year
(the tracks are in place).

these made?
