Sunday, July 18, 2004 at Union Station in Little Rock. Today we saw some
rather rare cars, including a Cotton Belt Scale Test Car built in June 1926,
SSW #99203. The same train, a Pine Bluff loccal, had an unpatached SP unit
on the front (SP #8576) and a Missouri Pacific work car in the middle of
the train. The scale test car was the second car from the rear. Also today,
a CSX lead unit in the new CSX color scheme, an old UP faded unit #202, a
UP and BNSF combination on the head end of a southbound coal train, plus
NS, CEFX.

Another view of 8868.
Unpatched SP 8576 on a Pine Bluff local southbound, 1049 a.m.
Since these unpatched SP units are getting rarer and rared, here's another
view.
Patched SP 7813 on the same train.
UP 202 with quite a worn our paint job.
MoPac 15262. Anyone know the history of this car?
MoPac Buzzsaw boxcar.
This Cotton Belt Scale Test Car #99203 was built in June 1926 (David Hoge
got a sharper photo of this one and it showed the built date). It was the
second to last car on this Pine Bluff local.
This car snuck up on us and we had to quickly get our cameras ready, otherwise
I'd have been close to the tracks (we were under the station shed when we
noticed this car on the rear).
One more closeup (actually, this was cropped from a larger image)
