These were taken July 4, 7 and 11th in Little Rock and North
Little Rock, Arkansas. Some were at the north end of the Baring Cross bridge
in North Little Rock.

LEFT-Photo of the Union Pacific Baring Cross bridge over the Arkansas
River taken from a hiking train in North Little Rock, Arkansas, July 4, 2002.
The train on the bridge had just passed in front of Union Station in Little
Rock and made a 90 degree turn to the north (to the left) to cross the river.
RIGHT-Another shot of the bridge taken from the east side of the bridge after walking under it on the walking/bike path.
UP3000, the Biddle job, runs north across the Baring Cross bridge at 612 p.m. July 4. A public hiking trail runs under the bridge and under the roofed area.
UP223 heading southbound from UP Jenk's Shops about the cross the Baring
Cross bridge over the Arkansas River, 614 p.m. July 4. From the hiking trail,
you can walk up a hill to the foot of the bridge. Police tape has been put
here to try and prevent anyone from walking across the tracks, but I saw
two people do just that, one even walking across the bridge to Little Rock.
I don't plan on making many trips here since there is a "box city" of transients
close by plus you're rather isolated on the trail. Also, I heard that North
Little Rock police check out this area often for tresspassers. I did July
4, though, since the Osborne Family's July 4 fireworks were to start that
evening and there were eventually thousands in the park along the river.
EMD604 was in the consist, plus some Rock Island boxcars.
A Rock Island gondola plus the end of the southbound train going across the bridge.

UP2096 at 1029 a.m. A Western Pacific gondola was in the consist. I try to get as many 'fallen flags' as possible.

Lots of coils of some sort.
