HAPPY NEW YEAR 2008! Here's my first trains of the year, and there were more that I though passing Union Station in Little Rock, Arkansas (4 between 12:40 and 2:14 p.m.). Included today is a towing move of dead BNSF/SF No. 6506, which was about 5 cars from the rear of a freight. Also the following: UP 3874, 3833, 5040,2413, 9167, 7665 *** CSX  8887 *** SP/UP 2717 *** CN gondola 91078 with outside brackets *** Old yellow UP boxcar with shield and 'automated' sign being stored in the North Little Rock yards.  It was very windy and cold and felt like an icecycle in the freezer.

LEFT-UP 3874 and 3833 lead an intermodal past the station at 12:40 p.m. Jan 1, 2008, my first train in 2008. RIGHT-UP 5040.

LEFT-CSX 8887 leads a mixed train at 1:02 p.m. RIGHT-CSX 8887 and UP 2413.

LEFT-This 6-units of power was trailed by UP/SP 2717, which must have been stored where 'artists' had easy access. RIGHT-
CN gondola CN91078 with the side frame.

BNSF 6506 in tow. Any idea where this was going? It's former ATSF 5627, an SD45-2.

UP 9167, 1:36 p.m.

LEFT-UP 7665 and 8541 at 2:14 p.m. RIGHT-This old Union Pacific boxcar with the shield and 'automated' sign has been stored in the yard near Jenks Shops in North Little Rock for years and I decided to finally get a picture. The site is unaccessible and has a fence around it.
