Old Rock Island depots on the Sunbelt Route through western Arkansas, February 28, 2004.

Rock Island's depot in Booneville, Arkansas burned about 3-4 years ago but the frame still stands. The tracks ran to the right of the concrete platform. Tracks were taken up in the early 1980s. You are looking to the east. The Booneville Post Office is on the other side of the depot.

More shots of the burned out shell of the Booneville Rock Island depot. I haven't heard of any plans to renovate, but at least they left up something.

The Little Rock & Western uses the old Rock Island tracks through Ola, Arkansas, but the original Rock Island depot and signal still stands, vacant and run down. I understand this old station is owned by the city of Ola.

Still keeping a watch is the old signal tower.

More scenes of this quaint little depot. It's sort of hard to get to and is out of the town proper.

The Perry, Arkansas depot still is used for storing things by the Little Rock & Western. Their offices are located just to the right in another building. LRWN 103 is just to the right of the depot. Note that the old Rock sign is still on this depot.
