February 28, 2004 - KCS action from Heavener to Page, Oklahoma plus photos of some Railspot members in Page.


A soutnbound KCS mixed freight crosses the roadbed of the old Rock Island in Howe, Oklahoma at 904 a.m. February 28, 2004. The flat cars to the left are on the A-OK Railroad, which runs on former Rock Island trackage in Oklahoma. The tracks on the other side of the KCS train have been taken up (in the early 1980s).


KCS2001 heads a loaded coal train at North Heavener at 910 a.m.


KCS2007 heads a northbound mixed freight at North Heavener at 910 a.m. I was looking into the sun and had to brighten the photo. (Yes, there was a lot of sun at 9 a.m., but you'll see that it clouded up rapidly the rest of the day).

UP7207 heads a northbound empty coal train into Heavener, Oklahoma at 1004 a.m. February 28. Notice the varied consist of UP7207, KCS2044, KCS2039, BNSF8950 and BNSF9810.

KCS2001 head two UP units and a loaded coal train southbound through Heavener at 1021 a.m.

Going down grade at Page. It had gotten cloudy at this point.


DPU units were KCS2033 plus a UP unit.
