. There were lots of trains today. Some had to stop to let the yard area
in North Little Rock clear out. An engineer told us that there were 11 northbound
trains stacked up behind him as of 1030 a.m. (I guess the recession is over).
As information, Amtrak President Warrington announced yesterday, February
2, that Amtrak would discontinue all long-distance passenger service October
1, 2002 unless Congress gave it $1.2 billion.
