FAYETTEVILLE & LITTLE ROCK
(taken October 28, 1974 by Ken Ziegenbein)

Chartered September 4, 1886. It was abandoned July 30, 1937, when the last train ran. Coal was the reason for building.

Taken in the rain at St. Paul, Arkansas on October 28, 1974 at 11:05 a.m. This is looking to the southwest. The White River is to the left. I visited a store in town and showed them the Shortline Railroad of Arkansas book by Gene Hull and they were fascinated by the old photos of this line in St. Paul.

At Fayette Junction near Fayetteville, Arkansas, just south of town. This line was then (in 1974) part of the Frisco. I believe the line to the left was the one that went to St. Paul.
