These Fall colors were along the Union Pacific branch line to Camp Robinson in North Little Rock, Arkansas on November 19, 2004. It stops at Camp Robinson (Army National Guard, home of the 39th Infantry) and comes off the UP Van Buren Sub. As far as I can determine, the last time this line was used was during the Iraq Gulf War in 1991. I saw several military equipment moves at that time. Trees fell on the line back in January 2000 during an ice storm. These dead trees are still all over the line.  Although I don't know this for sure, I was told back in the late 1980s that UP wanted to abandon this line, but the Army won't let them.  The line was repaired with a lot of new ties right before the Gulf War.  It's located only one block from my home. This is just south of Kierre Blvd  in North Little Rock looking southeast. Date was November 19, 2004.

The structure over the tracks between the trees is a North Little Rock water tower.

I like this shot the best. Leaves anyone?
