LEFT-A rare northbound signal on this mainly UP southbound track.
RIGHT-UP 2745 (old SP) at 11:42 a.m. January 6, northbound with rock
train.

Anyone know where this was heading?

The ballast on the ground was already there and didn't come off the
passing ballast cars. The ballast was left when track crews worked on
the ties and crossties a few weeks ago.

LEFT-Use your imagination to see the old Rock Island crossing here. I'm
looking east toward Memphis. RIGHT-NS 8946, 8:34 a.m. January 6.

LEFT-TFM 2623. RIGHT-UP 9788, 8:44 a.m. taken from the north side ot
the depot. UP usually runs blocks of southbounders through here usually
every 10-25 minutes, then there could be several hours without any
trains at all.

LEFT-Track turnout taken from inside the fence on the east side of the
depot, looking south. The track curving on the left goes to
Memphis on the Rock Island roadbed. RIGHT-UP 9470, 8:51 a.m.

LEFT-CSX 8838, 9:11 a.m. RIGHT-Very worn Rock Island boxcar.

LEFT-UP 4170, 9:31 a.m. RIGHT-9:43 a.m. from the Memphis subdivision.

LEFT-UP 4766. RIGHT-GNRR 30063, outside braced Southern boxcar . I know
this isn't wood, but it has the same look.

LEFT-UP 4953, 11:46 a.m. RIGHT-You can see a distant train approaching
from the east through these UPS containers. (Remember that you can
click on any image to enlarge)

11:54 a.m. CSX 8824.

LEFT-11:55 a.m., Conrail 8439. The track merging from the east will
eventually merge onto the main north-south line a few miles south of
Brinkley. RIGHT-UP 2722 about to back into the Brinkley siding at 12:21
p.m.
