AUGUST 26, 2002

Today we drove from Gillette, Wyoming to Shelby, Montana. Included is a rainbow over the Montana fields. Somehow we managed to stay at a motel next to the busy BNSF railyard in Shelby! We drove to Shelby partly on Interstate 15 and I can assure you this isn't Texas or Arkansas. The average time between meeting cars in the opposite lane was 40 to 50 seconds and there were some stretches of the Interstate where I didn't see another car for over 6 minutes! And this was on a Monday! You could maybe compare it with Interstate 30 at 3 a.m. on Christmas Eve between towns in southwest Arkansas.

The flowers were outside the Big Horn County Historicall Museum office in Hardin, Montana on August 26. One of the ladies who did the garden worked in this office.

The rainbow picture was taken south of Great Falls, Montana, as were the clouds. The Sinclair sign was taken because I grew up in Texas using Sinclair gasoline, but they changed owners in Texas. Also, unleaded in Montana is only 85 octane, while the plus is 88. Since most of the country uses 87 as regular, they recommended I use the 88.

Sarah visited a good quilt shop in Great Falls.  The KZ wholesale sign was across the street (since KZ is my initials)

Sunset at Shelby, Montana, August 26.
