Our first day. We left about 10 a.m. and got to Independence,
Kanasas
about 530 p.m., not bad considering meal stops along the way. We drove
up through Springdale then over to Tulsa, taking U.S. 75 north of
Tulsa.
Our first sightseeing was the Laura Engles "Little House" site near
Independence.

RIGHT-Buffalo just outside Independence, Kansas.

The Kansas home of Charles Ingalls 1869-1870. This is where Laura
Ingalls
lived when she was 2 years old and is the setting for the Little House
on the Prairie book. The old railroad crossing signal is in
Independence,
Kansas

Downtown Independence, Kansas. I just 'had' to photograph the lingerie
shop window. We ate at an Excellent restaurant in Independence, called
Uncle Jacks Restaurant and Bar. The lady singer they had was also very
good. We were at Wal Mart at sunset (you get the sunset pictures when
and
where you can).
