Two trains passing Union Station Little Rock Tuesday, April 27, 2004, one BNSF and one UP.

UP 1373, 3:02 p.m., a
GP40P-2, according to Randy Keller and Michael Ellis (both pointed out that it was not a GP40X). Here's Michael Ellis'  email on the subject:
"Mike (Gitlin) and Ken, need to take a look at your picture again. UP 1373 is really an ex-Espee GP40P-2. One of the Espee 40X's spotting features would be the HTB sideframe trucks, UP 1373 doesn't have them. Also, there is an added 5 or so feet to the rear end of this locomotive.....this is where the steam generator was when they were used in commuter service in California couple of decades ago. By the way.... Two of Espees GP40X's (7200 & 7201) went to National Railway Equipment and at least one has been leased to the Toledo, Peoria and Western. (SP 7200 = TP&W 4056). Anyway, I'm glad to see a rare GP40P-2 still running even if its in UP colors! I remember photographing one in Tyler yard several years ago still in Espee colors. Below is a link and pixs to verify the findings."
