All these photos were taken May 31, 2000 on our way from Fairbanks through the Arctic Circle to Coldfoot, Alaska. We left about 830 a.m. on the Dalton Highway, a narrow dirt road next to the oil pipeline (which was visible along most of our route). Starting from the upper left photo, we see how it looked outside the Fairbanks Princess Lodge at 3:15 a.m. (still light) and our hotel on the upper right.
Continuing left to right down the page of photos, we see a rainbow just outside Fairbanks; a stop at Joy, Alaska for drinks and gifts; the Yukon River and our group having a picnic on the riverbank; Finger Mountain scenes, including Sarah very cold; the Arctic Circle park about 355 p.m., where we had champaign courtesy of Princess celebrating our crossing of the Arctic Circle; the Alaska Pipeline next to the Dalton Highway; and arriving in Coldfoot about 6 p.m. where we had a very nice buffet waiting.
This was Princess' first tour going to Prudoe Bay for the season.
