couple of red double-truck flats *** UP 2858, 2794, 3921, 9735, 2240,

HLCX 5966, 9:04 a.m.

Workers were doing some work on the signals and wiring.

9:27 a.m.

UP 2858, 9:28 a.m.

9:59 a.m., UP 794, with 5 loads of modular track and some ballast cars.
We heard they were on their way to near Higgins (toward Pine Bluff) due
to a derailment earlier in that area.

UP 3921, 10:11 a.m.

Double trucks on a few flatcars.

UP 9733, 10:27 a.m.

A string of new Midwest Ethanol Transport cars.

UP 2240, 11:19 a.m.

11:35 a.m., UP 4354. Note the boy and his mother sitting on the
platform at left. They were there just to watch trains like we were.
But, like almost every day at Union Station between 11 and 11:30 a.m.,
someone will drive up to the Amtrak station here and start unloading
their luggage, waiting for the Texas Eagle, No. 22, from Dallas. They
all seem to think 11:30 p.m. is in the morning instead of 12 hours
later when the Eagle actually arrives. We had 3 cars with people show
up on this Sunday. Maybe Amtrak should put the work 'Midnight' on a
line close to the 11:30 p.m. arrival time.
